Shillong, Sept 10: R&B superstar Akon will headline the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival on November 16, as part of his ‘Superfan Tour’, officials announced on Tuesday.

The festival, supported by the Meghalaya government, will take place on November 15 and 16, attracting thousands of music lovers from across the country.

Akon’s performance is part of his Asian tour, which includes shows in multiple countries in November and December.

Last year’s festival featured Ne-Yo and Ronan Keating, and this year’s lineup also includes Boney M as part of their farewell tour.

Tickets for the festival are available online, starting at Rs 3,299.
