In a series of search operations carried out by security forces in the vulnerable areas of the hill and valley districts of Manipur, significant arms and ammunition have been recovered, strengthening ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
During an operation at Machin Manao Ching in Chingmang Bamdiar, Bishnupur District, the Manipur Police successfully recovered one Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) with a magazine, two RPG (Rocket-Propelled Grenade) shells, two RPG shell chargers, four hand grenades.
In a separate operation, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a search at Tekcham Maning Ching in Thoubal District, resulting in the recovery huge cache of arms and ammunition which include one 7.62mm SLR with an empty magazine, two sub-machine gun (SMG) carbines with two magazines, one .32 caliber pistol with an empty magazine, one 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, one 51mm para bomb, four hand grenades without detonators, two tube launchers, two electronic detonators, five STARDYNE-90 explosives weighing 125 grams each and twelve live ammunition rounds.
In a third incident, a joint operation by the Indian Army, BSF, and Manipur Police at Nalon in Churachandpur District led to the discovery of two large, heavy-caliber country-made mortars (Pompis) and two No. 80 grenades.
