Kohima, Oct 24: The Nagaland Police has issued a warning to citizens about an investment scam targeting investors from the state. A company identified as RGA has been luring investors with promises of huge returns, initially providing returns to appear genuine and then offering commissions for introducing new investors.

This modus operandi is characteristic of a Ponzi scheme, police said. To protect citizens, the police advised individuals who have lost money to report the scam immediately to the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System by calling 1930 or visiting the website cybercrime.gov.in.

The police urged caution when investing, emphasizing the importance of verifying investment opportunities with regulatory bodies and researching the company’s reputation. Citizens are advised to be wary of unusually high returns or pressure to invest quickly.
