Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay presided over a pivotal meeting to review preparations for the esteemed Kamsel Ceremony, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22, 2024, at Tholung Monastery in Dzongu. This culturally significant event, held every three years, drew its last observance in 2021.

During the meeting, Tamang-Golay led an in-depth discussion, emphasizing the need for proactive efforts and meticulous planning among officials and committee members. He underscored essential areas requiring attention, including reliable power supply and road connectivity for attendees and participants. “The success of the Kamsel Ceremony relies on our collective efforts,” Tamang-Golay stated, expressing confidence in creating a seamless experience for devotees and all involved.

Mr. Passang Phempu, Secretary of the Ecclesiastical Department, presented an overview of the Kamsel Ceremony, highlighting its historical significance and rich traditions within the community. The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Ministers Mr. Sonam Lama and Mr. Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, Zilla Adakshya Mangan, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and President Sakyong Pentong GPU.
