The Manipur Police, in a major crackdown, seized a significant quantity of local and foreign liquor from Victoria’s Mart, Hmar Veng, and the Rengkai area in Churachandpur District over the past two days. The confiscated items include 252 beer cans, 42 whiskey bottles, 18 bottles of wine, 84 liters of locally distilled DIC liquor, and 23 liters of Gold Myanmar Liquor. The seized liquor, valued at approximately Rs 1,56,600, has since been disposed of.
Additionally, Manipur Police ensured the movement of 104 and 16 vehicles carrying essential goods along National Highways NH-37 and NH-2, respectively. To safeguard transport routes, strict security measures were enforced across vulnerable locations, with security convoys provided for safe passage along sensitive stretches.
A total of 112 Nakas and checkpoints were installed across various districts, covering both hill and valley regions. Six individuals were detained for violations in connection with these security operations, underscoring the state’s commitment to law enforcement and public safety.
