Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Wednesday that the state will establish three additional medical colleges, increasing the total number of such institutions to four. This move is part of the state government’s broader initiative to enhance healthcare services and medical education in the region.

Speaking during the induction of 100 MBBS students at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), the only medical college in the state, Khandu disclosed that the second medical college will be set up in Pasighat, while a third will be built in Namsai under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The fourth college will be established in the West Kameng-Tawang region.

These new institutions aim to address the shortage of medical professionals in the state and improve access to quality healthcare for local communities.
