Itanagar, Nov 8– Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday called on the Arunachal Pradesh Police to actively support the government’s efforts in eliminating the “bandh” (strike) culture in the state. Addressing the 52nd Raising Day celebrations of the Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar, Khandu emphasized the importance of strict law enforcement to curb the disruptive practice that he said harms the state’s economy and daily life.

Khandu pointed out that bandhs result in significant economic losses and inconvenience to the public. He urged organizations to find alternative, peaceful ways to voice their grievances instead of resorting to strikes. “Bandhs are not the solution. Organizations should explore other means to express their concerns to the government,” he said. The Chief Minister further called on the police to take decisive action to ensure law and order and put an end to the bandh culture in the state.
