Manipur: Hideout Linked To Abduction Case Raided In Imphal East; Four KYKL (SOREPA) Members Arrested

In a breakthrough in the investigation of the abduction and assault case of Joshua Kamei, a 23-year-old railway driver from Kambiron (Puiluan Village) in Noney, Manipur Police raided a suspected hideout at Urup Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District, on Thursday.

During the operation, four members of the proscribed group KYKL (SOREPA) were arrested. The suspects were identified as Hijam Nikhil Singh (27), Hijam Thanglen Meitei (30), Thongam Ningthem Singh (32), and Gobin Elangbam (29). Police seized a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), a .303 rifle, and two Maruti Gypsy vehicles from the location. Additionally, two individuals identified as drug users, who were found in the custody of the suspects, were rescued during the raid.

The police confirmed that further investigation is ongoing to gather additional information related to the case.
