Gangtok, Nov 8: Om Prakash Mathur, the Governor of Sikkim, has arrived in Namchi for a two-day official visit aimed at reviewing development activities and welfare initiatives in the district.
Upon his arrival, Governor Mathur was greeted by local officials, including Satish Chandra Rai, MLA of Namchi Singithang; Anjeeta Rajalim, Zilla Adhakshya of Namchi; Ganesh Rai, Chairman of the Namchi Municipal Council; Anupa Tamling, Deputy Commissioner of Namchi; and TN Gyatsho, Senior Superintendent of Police, Namchi, among others.
During his visit, the Governor is scheduled to hold discussions with the Heads of Departments at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) to address pressing development issues. He will also interact with beneficiaries of various government schemes to assess their impact on the local community.
Additionally, Governor Mathur will visit key institutions such as the Gram Prashasan Kendra in Assangthang, the District Hospital Namchi, the Old Age Home, and the Blind School at Boomtar, to review the progress of welfare projects and their effectiveness in serving the people.
