In a significant blow to the illicit drug trade in Guwahati, Assam, police arrested an alleged drug peddler, Krishna Kath, on Thursday night. The suspect was apprehended near the Khanapara area by officials from the Basistha Police Station, acting on credible inputs.

Upon searching Kath, police found 19 containers of suspected heroin and a stolen motorcycle bearing registration AS01AV1460. Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen, and Kath was involved in drug peddling. The seized items were taken into custody, and Kath is currently facing investigation for his involvement in other similar crimes.

This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by the Assam Police to curb the drug trade in the state. The Special Task Force (STF) has been actively involved in cracking down on narcotics smuggling and peddling, with several major arrests made in recent times.

The police action sends a strong message that illicit activities will not be tolerated in Guwahati. With continued efforts to dismantle the drug trade, residents can feel safer knowing that authorities are working to protect their community.
