Kohima, Nov 18: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by his deputies T R Zeliang and Y Patton, will lead a delegation of the state cabinet to New Delhi on Monday to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting aims to press for the swift resolution of the Naga political dialogue, which has been delayed for several months.

The move follows mounting concerns after the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) warned of a return to armed struggle if the central government fails to implement key provisions of the peace agreement, including the recognition of the Naga national flag and constitution. NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah recently accused the Government of India of “deliberately refusing” to honour these critical terms of the agreement.

The Nagaland Cabinet’s intervention highlights the urgency of resolving the Naga political issue, with both state and central leaders seeking a permanent and peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
