Aizawl, Nov 26: The Mizoram government is making significant efforts to install prepaid power meters as part of its commitment to improving the state’s electricity distribution system. Officials confirmed that the initiative is in line with the Centre’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
On November 21, the state’s power and electricity department signed an agreement with the Advance Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) to begin implementing the prepaid smart meters. This project aims to modernize the electricity infrastructure in Mizoram, enhancing service delivery, efficiency, and transparency for consumers.
