Aizawl, Nov 26: K Vanlalvena, the lone Rajya Sabha member from Mizoram, has called for the imposition of President’s rule in Manipur to address the ongoing ethnic violence in the state. The violence, which erupted in May last year, has claimed more than 250 lives.

Vanlalvena, a member of the Mizo National Front (MNF), emphasized that imposing President’s rule is “the need of the hour” to restore peace and stability in the state. He highlighted that direct intervention by the central government would be crucial in bringing the situation under control and ending the ongoing unrest.

The plea for President’s rule comes as ethnic clashes continue to devastate Manipur, further escalating concerns about the state’s security and governance.
