Imphal, Nov 27: A 46-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the attack on the houses of lawmakers in Imphal Valley on November 16. The attack involved mobs setting fire to the residences of three BJP legislators, including a senior minister, as well as a Congress MLA.

The violence followed rising tensions in the region after six members of the Meitei community, including three women and three children, went missing from a relief camp in Jiribam. The disappearances occurred after a gunfight between security forces and suspected Kuki-Zo militants on November 11, during which 10 insurgents were killed. The bodies of the missing individuals were later found, further escalating the unrest.
