Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the brutal murders of four individuals in Gorajan, Nagaon district. The accused, Amal Sarkar, is the nephew of one of the victims, Gunadhar Sarkar.

The murders occurred on November 22, when Gunadhar, his wife Sarojini, their daughter Jayasmrita, and local youth Anupam Sutradhar were found dead at the Sarkar residence. The victims had been violently attacked with sharp weapons. Nagaon Superintendent of Police Swapnaneel Deka confirmed the arrest and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
