Imphal, Dec 7: A gunfight broke out between security forces and suspected militants in Imphal East district of Manipur on Thursday night. The exchange of fire lasted for about an hour, with no casualties reported.
The militants opened fire in several peripheral villages, including Shantikhongbal, Yaingangpokpi Uyok Ching, and Thamnapokpi Uyok Ching. Security forces swiftly responded to the attack, but the identities and motives of the assailants remain unclear.
