Agartala, Dec 10: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Monday that Reliance Industries will send a team to the state to explore potential investment opportunities. Saha shared that he recently met Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai, where they discussed the possibilities for investment in Tripura.

Addressing a party event at Khumulwng in Sepahijala district, Saha highlighted the state’s tourism potential and its abundant bamboo resources, which could be utilized for ethanol production. He mentioned that Ambani had expressed interest in these opportunities and assured that a team would visit Tripura for further discussions.

The state has already signed a Rs 700 crore deal with Tata Group to develop 19 industrial training institutes (ITIs) in Tripura. Additionally, Saha stated he has written to Infosys, inviting the company to be part of the state’s technological growth.

Saha also revealed that Bharti Airtel has agreed to set up a data center in Agartala. He emphasized that Tripura provides an “investment-friendly atmosphere,” noting the state’s peace following the surrender of militant groups like NLFT and ATTF in September.

The CM credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for playing a pivotal role in bringing peace to the region, pointing out that several peace accords have been signed since Modi’s tenure began in 2014.
