Mizoram Yet To Appoint Human Rights Panel Chief, Members

Aizawl, Dec 11: The Mizoram government has not yet appointed a chairperson, members, or supporting staff for the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), nearly two months after its establishment.

Home Department Secretary Vanlalmawia said the selection committee, chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, is still finalizing its recommendations. The SHRC requires the appointment of a chairperson, two members, and 13 officers and staff.

“The recruitment process is ongoing, and the selection committee is expected to submit its recommendations soon,” Vanlalmawia stated.
