In a major operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier successfully foiled a significant smuggling attempt on December 11, 2024, along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Acting on reliable intelligence, BSF personnel intercepted a consignment of contraband goods, including cosmetics, fruits, blankets, sugar, eye glasses, and liquor, with an estimated value of over Rs. 19 lakh.

The prompt action by the BSF prevented the illegal goods from entering India. The seized items have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation, underlining the BSF’s ongoing efforts to combat cross-border smuggling.
