Agartala, December 12, 2024: A sudden cancellation of an Air India Express flight from Agartala MBB Airport to Kolkata has left B.Ed candidates in a state of distress. The students, who were scheduled to appear for their B.Ed exam on Friday, have appealed to the Chief Minister to make alternative arrangements for their travel to Kolkata.
The candidates were shocked upon arriving at the airport this morning to find their flight cancelled. “We were all set for our journey when we saw the flight was cancelled. Our B.Ed exam is tomorrow, and this disruption puts our future at risk,” a distressed student explained.
Air India Express authorities cited bad weather as the reason for the cancellation. However, the students expressed frustration, noting that flights from other airlines were not affected. “Why was only our flight cancelled? Other flights are still operating. This is unfair,” another student remarked angrily.
Highlighting their predicament, the students stressed the urgency of the situation. “We must reach Kolkata by today. The university will not accept the flight cancellation as an excuse. We could face severe academic losses,” one candidate emphasized.
Following the cancellation, the students addressed the media, making a direct appeal to the Chief Minister. “We request the Chief Minister to intervene and arrange an alternative flight for us today. Our academic future is at stake,” they pleaded.
The incident highlighted the critical need for contingency planning in flight operations, especially during crucial examination periods, to avoid such disruptions in the future. The affected students hope for a swift resolution to their travel woes, ensuring they can attend their scheduled exams without further hindrance.
