Chief Minister N. Biren Singh attended the solemn observance of Vijay Diwas at the 1st Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall in Imphal today. The event commemorated India’s historic victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War and the liberation of Bangladesh.
Addressing the gathering, CM Biren paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the war. “Their valor and dedication ensured India’s historic victory and the liberation of Bangladesh,” he stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of remembering the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes. “As we remember their sacrifices, let us also reaffirm our commitment to uphold the unity, integrity, and progress of our nation,” he urged.
Vijay Diwas, observed annually on December 16, marks India’s decisive victory over Pakistan in 1971, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. The event serves as a poignant reminder of the courage and determination of the Indian Armed Forces.
The observance was attended by senior government officials, military personnel, and members of the public, who joined in paying homage to the fallen heroes. Special prayers and cultural programs marked the occasion, reflecting the nation’s gratitude towards its soldiers.
