Agartala, December 16, 2024: A scooty and a Swift Dzire car collided head-on Sunday at Tripura’s Rastar Matha area under Bishalgarh sub-division in Sepahijala district resulting in injuries to the scooty rider. The incident garnered immediate attention when the state’s Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha personally intervened to assist the injured.

The accident took place while Chief Minister Dr Saha was returning from Udaipur to Agartala. Witnessing the collision, he promptly halted his convoy and came forward to help the injured scooty rider Ganesh Debnath. Demonstrating swift action, the Chief Minister arranged for Debnath to be transported to the hospital in his convoy for urgent medical care.

In the aftermath of the collision, the police arrested the car driver involved in the incident. Preliminary investigations reveal that the scooty lost balance and veered into the car’s path. The driver of the car, when questioned stated, “The scooty suddenly lost its balance and hit my car.”

The Bishalgarh police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and ensure accountability.

Meanwhile, the community has lauded Chief Minister Saha’s prompt and compassionate response, underscoring the importance of immediate action in emergencies. The condition of the injured driver, Ganesh Debnath, remains critical as he receives treatment.
