Manipur: Security Forces Seize Arms, Ammunition, And IEDs In Kangpokpi, Imphal East

Security forces conducted two separate operations in Manipur, leading to the seizure of arms, ammunition, and explosive materials.

In Phaileng, Kangpokpi District, security personnel recovered an SMG Carbine with one magazine, a country-made canon (Pumpi), 10 rounds of 7.62×39mm ammunition, 6 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and 5 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

In a separate operation near Korang Bridge in Monglham, Imphal East District, forces seized 01 (one) 5.5kg IED, 01 (one) 5kg IED, 01 (one) 4kg IED, 02 (two) 3.5kg IEDs, and 01 (one) 25 meters of Cordtex.

The operations were conducted as part of ongoing efforts to curb violence and ensure the safety of the region. Security forces remain vigilant, continuing their proactive measures against illegal arms and explosives. Further investigations are underway to determine the origins and intended use of the recovered items.
