The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), under the leadership of its President Keisham Meghachandra Singh, staged a protest against the BJP-led double-engine government, demanding an apology and the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The protest was in response to Shah’s remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which the Congress deemed insulting to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

The Congress also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologize to the nation for the alleged insult to Dr. Ambedkar.

Adding to the grievances, the Congress accused the BJP of physically assaulting Congress President and Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha. Prominent Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, and others, have strongly condemned the incident and called for accountability from the BJP leadership.
