Guwahati, Dec 20: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday hailed his invitation to Bhutan’s National Day celebrations as a significant recognition of Assam’s emergence as an economic power.
Sarma emphasized that the invitation highlights the growing economic influence of Assam in the region. Bhutan’s National Day, celebrated on December 17, commemorates the coronation of Bhutan’s first King, His Majesty Ugyen Wangchuk, in 1907, and honors the sacrifices of the country’s forefathers.
