16 Bangladeshis Arrested For Illegal Border Crossing In Assam

In a coordinated operation, the South Salmara Police in Assam arrested 16 individuals, including 7 men, 4 women, and 5 children, for illegally crossing the India-Bangladesh border. The group, which had travelled from Bengaluru to Guwahati Railway Station, was intercepted on their way to South Salmara Mankachar district.

The arrested individuals were confirmed to be Bangladeshi nationals after an investigation. They have been identified as Zakir Sk, Md Mehdi Hasan, Rumana Aktar, Md Rizwan Hawaldar, Jamal Sk, Beauty Begum, Munni Begum, Nushrat Zahan, Rustom Sk, Rubel Qureshi, Chand Mia, and the 5 children.

Authorities have initiated procedures to deport the suspects back to Bangladesh.
