In a series of joint operations, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police have recovered 25 weapons, ammunition, and war-like stores over the past few days in the hill and valley regions of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Bishnupur districts of Manipur.
The security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable areas of these districts. Key recoveries during the operations include 11 live rounds of SLR ammunition, 1 SLR magazine, 66 empty SLR cartridges, and a battery and antenna of a radio set from Phayeng Porom Hill.
1 misfired AK round, 102 empty AK cartridges, 2 empty SLR cartridges, 1 12-bore cartridge, and a locally made bomb from K. Songlung area.
These operations were carried out in the Phayeng, Songlung, and Chiru areas within the Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts, showcasing the continued efforts of security forces to ensure peace and stability in the region.
