Gangtok, Dec 23: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, accompanied by Krishna Rai, attended the State-Level Pre-Christmas Celebration 2024 at Rangpo Ground on December 23. The event, themed “Sikkim Rejoice,” was graced by key figures, including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, church leaders, and local devotees.
In his address, the Chief Minister extended warm Christmas greetings and reflected on last year’s theme of “Prayer for Peace” following the state’s flash floods. He expressed gratitude for the community’s resilience and support during challenging times. This year’s celebration, focused on unity, faith, and joy, highlighted the importance of spirituality, with the Chief Minister urging attendees to integrate the teachings of God into their daily lives for personal and communal growth.
Tamang-Golay also reaffirmed Sikkim’s dedication to religious harmony, emphasizing that the state stands as a model of peaceful coexistence, where all religions are respected. Political Secretary Jacob Khaling Rai lauded the Chief Minister’s leadership in promoting inclusivity and unity among Sikkim’s diverse cultures and religions.
The event featured an inspiring message from guest speaker Aacharya Vikas Massey on the transformative power of faith, along with cultural performances and a musical presentation by renowned singer Karna Das.
During the celebration, the organizing committee honored the Chief Minister, Krishna Rai, Aacharya Vikas Massey, Pastor Joseph Tamang, and Rev. Dilip Chettri for their contributions to the success of the event.
