Manipur: 22 Acres Of Poppy Plantations Destroyed In Kangpokpi District By Joint Operation

A joint operation by the Manipur Police, CRPF, Forest Department, and an Executive Magistrate led to the destruction of 22 acres of illegal poppy plantations in Kangpokpi district on Monday.

The team targeted plantations in Kotlen and Holjang villages along IT Road, successfully eradicating 5 acres in Kotlen and 17 acres in Holjang.

Authorities have registered an FIR and are actively working to identify and apprehend those involved in cultivating the banned crops. Officials reiterated their commitment to combating the illegal drug trade and preserving the region’s ecological balance.
