Author Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi has been honored with the prestigious Asom Prakashan Parishad Literary Award 2024 for his book Dhar Aru Anyanya Golpo. The award, which recognizes significant contributions to Assamese literature, includes a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, an angavastra, and a collection of books.

Thongchi, a prominent figure in Assamese literature, joins a distinguished group of past recipients, such as Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora (2023), Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka (2022), and Dr. Nandita Devi (2021). This recognition highlights his lasting impact on the literary community.

In related news, the Assam Book Fair, a major cultural event, is set to open on 27th December at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati.
