Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday underscored the need to empower municipalities to thrive independently. During a meeting with Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tamme Phassang at the civil secretariat, Khandu outlined his vision for strengthening urban development and promoting self-reliance within municipal bodies.
Khandu stressed the importance of robust infrastructure, innovative solutions, and proactive governance to ensure sustainable urban growth. He assured Phassang of his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the IMC.
The Chief Minister praised the Mayor for his dedication to supporting municipal initiatives, which he called vital in addressing the city’s pressing issues. He extended his New Year wishes to the IMC, expressing hope for a prosperous 2025 and reaffirming his dedication to the continued progress and well-being of the people.
Phassang, in turn, appreciated the Chief Minister’s leadership and support, highlighting the significance of collaboration between the state government and municipal authorities to drive meaningful change. He also briefed Khandu on various IMC concerns that require attention from the government.
