Agartala, December 31, 2024: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the implementation of its updated train time table, set to take effect from January 1, 2025. This comprehensive overhaul aims to enhance passenger convenience, improve connectivity, and optimize operational efficiency across the region.
A standout feature of the revised schedule is the acceleration of 43 trains, which will significantly reduce travel times on several crucial routes. Highlighting the improvements, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR, stated, “We are committed to providing faster and more efficient services to our passengers. The new time table reflects our dedication to streamlining operations while addressing passenger needs.”
Notable examples include the SMVT Bengaluru – New Tinsukia Express (Train No. 22501), which will now run two hours faster, and the Kamakhya – Gomti Nagar Express (Train No. 15077), saving passengers 75 minutes. Similarly, the Dibrugarh – Howrah Express (Train No. 15962) will see a reduction of 60 minutes in travel time.
Additionally, the timings of 24 express trains have been revised to better suit passenger requirements. For instance, the New Jalpaiguri – New Delhi Express (Train No. 12523) will now depart at 08:45 hours, while the Silchar – Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (Train No. 12508) is rescheduled to leave Silchar at 19:30 hours.
Further adjustments include revisions to the schedules of 16 intra-zonal mail/express trains and 23 DEMU trains. “These changes are aimed at improving connectivity and ensuring smoother travel experiences for our passengers,” Sharma added.
The updated time table, with details of revised stoppages and timings, is available on the IRCTC website and NFR’s official social media platforms. Passengers are encouraged to verify the new schedule before planning their journeys.
