Security Forces Recover Large Cache Of Arms And Ammunition In Manipur

Security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable regions of hill and valley districts of Manipur. The operations, aimed at curbing illegal activities and ensuring security, yielded a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and other items from two locations in Bishnupur and Thoubal districts.

During an operation near Khunjarok Nala in Thongkhonglok village, Bishnupur district, security forces recovered 1 SLR with one magazine, 1 .303 Rifle, 1 12-Bore Single Barrel Gun, 2 9mm Pistols with two magazines, 1 Anti-Riot Gun, 2 INSAS LMG magazines, 2 INSAS rifle magazines, 4 Hand Grenades (No. 36), 1 Detonator, 5 Anti-Riot Shells, Various live rounds, including 22 for a 12-Bore Gun, 2 Magazine Pouches, 2 Pairs of Hunting Boots and 2 Baofeng Handheld Sets.

In a separate operation in the Leishangthem Ikop Pat area of Thoubal district, security forces seized 1 Anti-Material Rifle (AMR) Sniper modified with a sight scope and one magazine, 2 Single Bolt Action Rifles, 3 Country-Made 9mm Pistols, 1 No. 36 HE Hand Grenade, 4 MK-13T Hand Grenades, Various empty shell cases, including .303 and 7.62 calibers, 1 Stun Shell, 1 Tear Smoke Shell, 1 Tube Launcher, 12-Bore Cartridges.

These operations are part of broader measures to enhance security in vulnerable regions, especially in areas affected by recent violence. Authorities reaffirm their commitment to maintaining law and order and urge citizens to cooperate with ongoing security initiatives.
