Assam Cabinet Approves Rs 419 Crore Investment For Road And Water Infrastructure Projects

Guwahati, Jan 2: The Assam Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved a total investment of Rs 419 crore for the development of road and water supply projects across the state.

In a move to enhance rural connectivity, the Cabinet approved 104 road projects worth Rs 210.8 crore, benefiting 12 districts. Additionally, the Cabinet allocated Rs 207.92 crore for drinking water supply schemes in Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur, under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF).

Other decisions included the approval of an online portal for mutual transfers of Grade III and IV employees and the amendment of the Assam Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2024, to streamline the registration process.
