The Manipur Congress on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJP and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, accusing them of deflecting responsibility by making false allegations against the previous Congress government instead of addressing critical governance issues.
Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhawan, Imphal, former Chief Minister and CLP leader Okram Ibobi Singh, Congress President Keisham Meghachandra Singh, Deputy CLP leader K. Ranjit, and former Speaker Th. Lokeshwar condemned the BJP-led government’s “blame-shifting” tactics. They argued that this approach reflects the ruling party’s failure to effectively manage the state’s challenges, including the ongoing unrest.
The Congress leaders stated that if CM Biren Singh has apologized for the violence, he must take full responsibility for the crisis and work towards resolving it. They emphasized the need for the government to prioritize accountability and deliver effective leadership rather than engaging in political blame games.
