the grand ‘Tripura Kumbh Mela 2024-2025’ commenced with spiritual fervor and grandeur. Over 3,000 monks from various orders and regions graced the event, making it a monumental gathering of Sanatan Dharma followers.

The event was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in the presence of ‘Tripura Kumbh Mela 2024-2025’ President Ranjitananda Ji Maharaj. The inauguration ceremony was a spectacle of devotion and unity, with dignitaries and monks coming together to mark this spiritual congregation.

The ‘Tripura Kumbh Mela 2024-2025’ witnessed a significant moment on December 30, 2024, as ARD, Fisheries, and SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das graced the event with his presence. The minister’s visit added to the spiritual fervor of the grand congregation, which has drawn thousands of monks and devotees from across the country.

Speaking at the event, Minister Das emphasized the profound spiritual impact of the Kumbh Mela. He remarked, “I believe that the visitors coming to this Kumbh Mela will not only gain merit through the holy Kumbh bath but also find this fair playing a pivotal role in awakening spiritual consciousness in the minds of traditional Hindus.”

The minister’s words resonated with the essence of the Kumbh Mela, a sacred gathering celebrated for its ability to unite people in devotion and inspire spiritual growth. His visit was marked by interactions with devotees and monks, further strengthening the connection between the state leadership and the Sanatani community.

Among the attendees were 300 ‘Naga Sanyasis,’ two esteemed ‘Maha Mundeshwars,’ 700 ‘Sadhus,’ and approximately 2,000 ‘Vaishnavs.’ President Ranjitananda Ji Maharaj expressed his gratitude and joy, stating, “I am proud to have been born in Tripura, a land where Sanatan Dharma thrives. This gathering is a testament to the unity of all Sanatani communities. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and social worker Gouranga Bhoumik have been instrumental in making this event a success, dedicating their time and resources tirelessly.”

Highlighting the support received from various quarters, Ranjitananda Ji Maharaj added, “Lakhs of devotees have come to witness this spiritual event. The District Magistrate of West Tripura, SDM of Jirania, Ranirbazar officials, and Meklipara Panchayat members, along with the West SP, have extended immense support. Minister Chowdhury’s humanitarian and financial assistance has been invaluable.”

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury lauded the significance of the Kumbh Mela, saying, “This event not only reinforces our cultural and spiritual heritage but also brings people together in devotion and harmony. It is a privilege to be part of such a historic gathering.”

The Kumbh Mela witnessed a steady influx of devotees and spiritual leaders, creating an atmosphere of divine celebration. The collective efforts of individuals like Goutam, Pritam, and Prabir Das were also acknowledged for their contributions to the event’s success.

The event concluded on the morning of January 2, 2025.
