Assam Rifles, Tripura Police & TFS Destroy Cannabis Plantation Worth Rs 70 Lakh

Agartala, January 09, 2025: Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Tripura Police and TFS successfully destroyed large areas of ganja plantation spread over 16.2 hectares in the general area of Anandnagar police station, Boxanagar Forest Range under Sonamura sub-division in Sepahijala district.

The operation, executed with clockwork precision, coordination and intensity, led to the eradication of 16,500 cannabis plants, valued at approximately ₹70 lakh.

The initiative was part of a broader mission to eliminate illicit activities and promote a drug-free environment in the region. The joint operation received significant support from the local administration and reaffirmed the importance of collective action in addressing such challenges.

This action highlights Assam Rifles’ relentless efforts in combating illegal drug cultivation and ensuring curb on drug menace in the region.
