Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has appointed guardian ministers and mentor secretaries for each district to improve oversight of local issues and ensure better implementation of government schemes. The move is aimed at enhancing governance at the district level and fostering development across the state.
CM Khandu made the announcement during a review meeting with UD & Housing Minister Balo Raja. He revealed that a meeting will be held on January 16 and 17, where all Deputy Commissioners (DCs), guardian ministers, and secretaries will discuss coordinated planning and evaluate the performance of districts.
The Chief Minister also shared that Cabinet meetings will be held in various districts in the future to strengthen interaction between the state government and local communities.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage presented updates on 11 major ongoing projects in the district, assuring that most will be completed by 2025. Hage also highlighted beautification efforts in Aalo township.
In a significant step, CM Khandu inaugurated the Aalo city surveillance project, which includes the installation of 10 CCTV cameras in strategic locations to improve security and monitoring.
Minister Balo Raja, who oversees several districts including West Siang, Leparada, and Shi-Yomi, urged district officials, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and MLAs to work together for the development of their regions. Raja also announced plans to convene a meeting with local stakeholders to review project progress.
The review meeting was attended by MLAs Topin Ete, Pesi Jilen, Nyabi Jini Dirchi, and senior officials, including Kamba ADC Tamo Riba and ZPC Tumpe Ete.
