Agartala, January 13, 2025: Tripura Police arrested a 39-year-old man and seized narcotics and live ammunition worth over Rs 2 lakh from Mohinipur Gram Panchayat in the West District.

According to a police officer from Sidhai Police Station, the authorities received a tip-off late Sunday night about an unidentified individual being detained in a rubber plantation.

“Upon arriving at the scene, we found the suspect, Ramkrishna Pal, with visible injuries and a bag in his possession. The Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and DCM joined the investigation, and a thorough search of his bag led to the discovery of 94 bottles of Eskuf, a banned cough syrup, 229 grams of heroin, and five live 9mm bullets,” the officer revealed.

The authorities seized all the illicit items and filed two cases against Pal. The total value of the recovered goods has been estimated at over Rs 2 lakh.
