Itanagar, Jan 14: An expert study group formed by the Arunachal Pradesh government has submitted its detailed project report (DPR) on the development of key trade routes. The report focuses on reopening trade links through Pangsau Pass (Indo-Myanmar sector) and Dongsengmang via Darranga Land Customs Station (LCS) (Indo-Bhutan sector).
The report was presented to the state’s Trade and Commerce Minister, Nyato Dukam, on Monday in a detailed PowerPoint presentation. Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, along with senior officials from various departments including home, planning, finance, tourism, power, and land management, were also present.
The study explores the historical significance of these routes and their potential to enhance trade, tourism, cultural exchanges, and sectors such as health, education, and natural resources. The report also assesses the potential macro-level impact of these trade routes, aiming to strengthen cross-border connectivity and drive economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh while expanding trade opportunities with Southeast Asia and the rest of India.
