Manipur: Security Forces Seize Suspected Opium, Arrest One In Senapati District

Security forces apprehended Ramesh Kumar (35) at T. Khullen Naka Checkpost in Senapati District for allegedly carrying suspected opium. Officials recovered 2.037 kg of opium, a four-wheeler, and a mobile handset from his possession. Kumar has been taken into custody for further investigation.

In a separate operations, Manipur Police arrested two active members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Progressive Wing Group) from Uripok Mayai Leikai near Machang Bakery Shop. The accused, Khangembam Sanaton Singh (51) of Mayang Langjing Taning Makha Leikai and Thokchom Tiken Singh (43) of Taothong Khunou, were allegedly involved in extortion activities targeting shops and showrooms in the Imphal area.

Authorities are investigating further to uncover the extent of their operations.
