Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has termed the completion of the road connecting Pipsorang to Tali in the Kra Daadi district as a historic milestone, ending 78 years of isolation for the remote region.

Khandu, accompanied by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia, and State Urban Development Minister Balo Raja, visited Pipsorang on Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the 55-kilometer road. Pipsorang, which was recently upgraded to a sub-divisional headquarters, had remained cut off from the rest of the state for decades.

This achievement follows Khandu’s landmark visit in February 2022 when he became the first chief minister to reach Tali by road. At that time, he set the goal to connect Tali to Pipsorang within a few years—a promise now fulfilled.

Khandu congratulated local legislator Jikke Tako, the Rural Works Department, contractors, and the people of Tali for their contributions to the project. He also highlighted the need for some final adjustments, including alignment changes and gradient modifications, to ensure the road’s safety and durability. Khandu assured that the remaining 30% of work would be completed within a month.

The road project, funded under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), is a significant step in improving connectivity across the state. Khandu emphasized the government’s commitment to connecting all unconnected villages in Arunachal Pradesh, with around 1,300 villages still lacking road access.

Khandu reiterated that road infrastructure remains a top priority for the state government, with efforts ongoing to extend connectivity to every corner of the state.
