Guwahati, Jan 23: Heavy fog at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) caused the delay of 18 flights, affecting air traffic operations. The thick fog led to reduced visibility, forcing airport authorities to implement precautionary measures.

To assist stranded passengers, the airport deployed additional staff across the terminal, arranged extra seating, and ensured the availability of drinking water to enhance comfort during the delays. Passengers were advised to stay in touch with their airlines for updated flight schedules before coming to the airport.

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre has forecast that fog and mist will continue to blanket Guwahati during the mornings for the rest of the week. Conditions are expected to improve later in the day. The maximum temperature for the day is predicted to reach 24°C, with a minimum temperature between 1°C and 4°C.
