A combined team comprising the Commando Unit Kakching, one platoon of ‘A’ Coy 126 Battalion BSF, and officers from Kakching Police Station conducted a search operation today between 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in the Wabagai Buffalo Farm area. The operation was carried out under the command of the Officer-in-Charge of the Commando Unit Kakching, supervised by the Additional SP (Operations) Kakching, and overall supervision of the SP Kakching (IPS).
Based on reliable information, the team searched a secluded area near bushes and recovered a cache of items suspected to have been concealed by unidentified miscreants. The recovered items, found inside a rice bag, include one air gun rifle marked ESA 300 Sports, two high-explosive (H.E) grenades without detonators, two 51mm live H.E shells (Lot No. 80K & 82K), ten rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, fifteen empty cases of AK rifle rounds, four stun shells (normal), two bulletproof plates, one bulletproof vest.
A case has been registered at Kakching Police Station, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the source and purpose of the concealed items. Further details are awaited.
