Agartala, January 23, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha lauded the recent revolutionary measures taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Piyush Goyal to enhance the export potential of Agarwood and Agar Oil. The Central Government, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has significantly revised export limits for these high-value products, paving the way for Tripura’s economic development.

The revised notification, effective from January 2025, sets new annual export limits for Tripura, allowing the state to export 22,500 kgs of Agarwood and 1,047 kgs of Agar Oil. This marks a significant step toward easing export restrictions and increasing global supply.

Expressing his gratitude, CM Dr. Manik Saha stated, “A big boost to Agarwood and Agar Oil Export by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji & UM Piyush Goyal Ji. Paving way for #UnnatTripuraShresthaTripura, the Central Government’s @DoC_GoI has revised the export limits of Agarwood and Agar Oil multiple times, further easing the terms of supply. This is a revolutionary step that will help Tripura to walk on the path of #ViksitBharat rapidly.”

The move is expected to unlock the economic potential of Tripura’s Agarwood industry, empowering local producers and exporters to access international markets. This initiative aligns with the state’s mission of sustainable development and economic empowerment under the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant India.
