In a joint operation on Thursday, security forces apprehended two active members of the proscribed outfit KCP(PWG) in the Uningkhong area under Khongjom Police Station, Thoubal District. The arrested individuals, identified as Thokchom Luxmikanta Singh alias Hapu (28) and Dinesh Thokchom alias Don (23), were caught while engaged in extortion activities.

The items which were recovered from their possession include two 9mm pistols with magazines, five 9mm live rounds, three mobile handsets, Rs. 10,000 in cash and one four-wheeler.

In a separate operation on Wednesday, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of the proscribed outfit KYKL, identified as Maibam Bronson Singh alias Thambou alias Ngamba (24), from Langol Type III area under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West District. The individual was allegedly involved in extortion from the general public and local shops. Items recovered from his possession include one mobile handset with a SIM card, one driving license, one two-wheeler.

Both operations underscore the ongoing efforts by security forces to crack down on illegal activities and maintain law and order in the state.
