The Manipur government marked the 15th National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2025, at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur. The event was also observed at district headquarters across the state.
As part of the celebrations, a photo exhibition on the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was inaugurated, followed by a tree plantation initiative.
Attendees at the event were administered an oath by the Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh, who attended the function as the chief guest.
Newly enrolled voters were presented with Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and badges, while centenarian voters were honored for their longstanding participation in the electoral process.
In his address, Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of exercising voting rights responsibly, stressing that a meaningful democracy is built on active participation. He also pointed out that India’s electoral process is the largest in the world, emphasizing its significance.
