Meghalaya CM Lays Foundation For Umpdem RCLP School Building In West Khasi Hills

Shillong, Jan 25: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma laid the foundation stone for the new Umpdem RCLP School building in the Eastern West Khasi Hills District. This marks a historic moment as CM Sangma becomes the first-ever Chief Minister to visit the village, expressing his honor in being with the people of Umpdem.

During the ceremony, CM Sangma highlighted the significance of investing in education, calling it the most effective way to ensure future progress. He urged state leaders to give education the highest priority, as it will provide the greatest returns for the state’s youth.

Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive development, CM Sangma said, “No village is too far, and no program is too small. Every village is my village, and it is my duty to ensure all villages receive the development and services they deserve.”

The Chief Minister also thanked Hon’ble MDC of Mairang, Sh. Batskhem Ryntathiang, for his generous contribution of ₹40 Lakhs through the MDC scheme, which will support the construction of the new school building.
