Agartala, January 25, 2025: Security measures have been intensified along the India-Bangladesh international border to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Republic Day celebration, Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan announced while addressing the media today. The Border Security Force (BSF) has increased patrolling and vigilance along the border, taking extra precautions to avert any untoward incidents.

“Tomorrow, January 26, marks the 76th Republic Day of India, a momentous occasion to celebrate the spirit of our democracy. Various programs will be organized across the state to commemorate this day,” said DGP Ranjan.

He elaborated that the main event will be held at the Assam Rifles Maidan in Agartala, where Governor Indrasena Reddy Nannu will hoist the national flag and take the ceremonial salute at the parade. “The Assam Rifles Maidan will be the focal point of celebrations, and we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety and security,” he added.

Highlighting the extensive preparations, DGP Ranjan stated that strict patrolling by the BSF is underway along the border, with additional security measures in place at locations where parade rehearsals are being conducted. “The administration is fully committed to maintaining law and order. Adequate deployment of BSF and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) forces has been ensured to address any potential security challenges,” he emphasized.

He further informed that the traffic department has implemented special measures to regulate vehicular movement and avoid congestion in key areas. “Our goal is to ensure that citizens can participate in the Republic Day celebrations without any fear or disruption,” DGP Ranjan assured.

The state police and security agencies are on high alert, particularly during the night of January 25 and into Republic Day morning. “We urge citizens to cooperate with the administration and report any suspicious activities,” he concluded.

The 76th Republic Day celebrations promise to be a vibrant display of patriotism, with security personnel working tirelessly to safeguard the festivities.
