Tajum Dere has made history by becoming the first cyclist from Arunachal Pradesh to compete in the 38th National Games.

A native of Shi-Yomi district, Dere’s achievement is a significant milestone for the state in the realm of national sports. His dedication and talent have earned him the opportunity to represent Arunachal Pradesh at this prestigious event.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Dere on his historic feat, expressing pride and admiration. On his official X handle, Khandu wrote, “Tajum Dere, you have pedalled your way into history! Dere is the first cyclist from Arunachal to make it to the 38th National Games.” He further acknowledged Dere’s inspiring journey, stating, “From the hills of Shi-Yomi to the national stage, you are showing the world the way to conquer mountains.”
